Tires: tires what will work, where can I find them?, goodyear tires, range c

Question
I have a 1976 Skylark camper with Goodyear tires on them, size 6.50-13ST load range C, max load 1340 at 60psi cold. the camper tag on trailer is hard to read but I believe say's 16 tandom, it is a tandom trailer and my measurement is 17ft from bumper to ball hitch? where can I find this size tire, or what can I use in its place? Thanks, Joe S.

Answer
Joe,

A 6.50-13 ST has an overall diameter 24.6", a width of 6.6" on a 4.5" rim and a load carrying capacity of 1075# at 35 psi for a Load Range B and 1325# at 50 psi for a Load Range C

An ST175/80R13 has an overall diameter of 24.0", a width of 7.0" on a 5" wide rim and a load carrying capacity of 1100# at 35 psi for a Load Range B and 1360# at 50 psi for a Load Range C.

It looks like the ST175/80R13 is a good choice in a more modern sizing system.

You can find these types of tires at places that specialize in trailers and related equipment.
