Tires: Van tires, inflation pressure, tire failure

Question
I know that you cannot endorse changing tire size, however i am asking what would be any major difference in changing size.  I have a van that uses the LT245-75/16 E, and am thinking about changing to a 265 so that i can increase the tire load limit.  I don't exceed the vehicle recommendations, but mostly for peace of mind as I pull a heavy trailer with my family in it and am very close to my maximum.  I thought going to the 265 which would increase my tire limit would be much easier on a heavier tire thus reduce risk of a blowout at highway speeds pulling the trailer.

Answer
Roger,

In theory, utilizing a large capacity in a tire - either by using more inflation pressure or the same pressure with a larger capacity tire - reduces the risk of a load related tire failure.

But there are other considerations.  Things such as the physical space in the fenderwells, and the width of the rim, make preclude the use of a physically larger tire.
