Tires: tire sizes, cadillac srx, tire fitments

Question
I have a 2007 Cadillac SRX with Sport pkg. There are two sizes of tires on it. Front 235/60R18; rear 255/55R18. Since they can't be rotated, I have read where people have replaced with four 235/65R18 or have installed four 255/55R18 on front & back. Is either of these alternatives a good idea just to be able to rotate tires?

Answer
Ron,

Installing the 255/55R18's on the front doesn't sound like a good idea.  Since they are wider, there's a risk they will rub.  Otherwise, GM would have done that in the beginning.

I also think there may be a problem with rubbing with 235/65R18's.  They would be taller.

Overall I am not a fan of staggered tire fitments.  I think it creates a problem for which there aren't good solutions.
