Tires: tires date, dot code, letters and numbers

How do you determine the date a tire was made? where is it stamped on the tire? thanks

 Every tire sold in the US has a DOT code generally molded into the tire around the bead area.  Immediately following the letters DOT you will find a combination of letters and numbers, the last 3 - 4 numbers are the week and year that the tire was produced.

EX: AB4E JWX 1208 = this tire was produced the 12th week of 2008
