Tires: Missing balancing weight?, balance weights, gmc envoy

I have a 2005 GMC Envoy, the rear right side tire is missing the balancing weight. How would that affect the tires and should I get it fixed as soon as possible? Thanks!

Balance weights are used to reduce tire and rim vibrations.  But you should be aware that sometimes, no balances weights are needed to make a tire and rim assembly balanced.

But if there used to be a balance weight and you are sure that you lost it, then a simple rebalancing of the tires will fix this.  

In severe case, out of balance tires and rims will caused a tire to wear irregularly, but usually there will only be a vibration.
