Tires: Best tires for B3000, wet traction, 2002 mazda b3000

Question
I live in Austin Texas and have a 2002 Mazda B3000 Ext Cab Dual Sport and am looking to get a new set of tires soon.  I currently have 58,000 miles on the factory set of Wranglers RT/S tires (235/75R15) and have tread left for 10,000 more miles.  They are great (other than a bit of road noise and not the best wet traction) and would buy them again, but thay are almost $100.00 each.  I was hoping to get a decent tire in the $60.00-$70.00 range.  I use the truck for daily transportation, 70% highway and 30% city.  I may drive an occasional dirt road but do not go offroad.  Maybe once a month I will haul 500-800 lbs in the bed.  With this type of usage can I get a good economical tire like I mentioned above?  What are some good suggestions?

Answer
Ray,

I would suggest you contact a local tire dealer - maybe several - to get their recommendation of what works in your area as this can vary a bit around the country.

BTW, dirt roads are still considered "off road" because the requirements are fairly similar.

Hope this helps
