Used Cars: Used truck, pretty good year, ford trucks

Question
I want to spend less than 10k on a used truck and am stuck between getting
a newer truck (i.e. 2004 f 150 extended cab xlt) with high milage 129k or a
slightly older truck 2001 same model that has around 90k miles.

better in your opinion to get the newer truck with more miles or an older
truck with less miles?

Answer
Well I dont really have a bias towards mileage, as long as the vehicle has been taken care of.  If I am not mistaken, it has been a while since I sold new Fords, but isnt the 04' the newer body style?
I ask because I think that 04 was the first year for the new body style, and they had some problems with that new body style, as where the 01 would probably, realistically be an "overall" better truck.  And having lower mileage could add to my choice leaning towards the older one.  01 was a pretty good year for Ford trucks.  I like the changes they made in the newer body styles, but my best friend is a Top 2% Ford Mechanic, and my brother is a Ford Service advisor, and I have heard them say some pretty bad things about the newer body style Ford Trucks.  So I will quit rambling, and say I would lean towards the 01!  I hope this is helpful.
