Trucking: Hot shot trucking start up money, mike byrnes, hot shot business

Is there a source for hot shot business plans. I plan on leasing out my truck & trailer with a small company for local hauling in Texas. Being new to this business I'm seeking reference material before making any purchases for equipment and what is exactly needed to operate a safe and legal hauling service.

Web sites like www.expeditorsonline.com can help teach you a lot.  Visiting the forums and asking questions will put you in the right direction.  Also, go to Amazon.com and buy a book called "Bumper to bumper" by Mike Byrnes.  The other book is "Shifting Gears" by DePillo, Melone and Warkintine.  These books for give you a lot of information on trucking.
