Truck Repair: timing injection pump on 1995 8.3 cummins, throttle shaft, torque nut

Question
no marks no drive gear for pump no keyway on shaft  how to reinstall pump in time. Only one dot on pump shaft. thanks

Answer
Put emgine on TDC#1(timing pin on rear of gear housing below fuel pump). If it is a Bosch P100 pump there is a timing plug on the side of the pump near throttle shaft.Takes a 24MM(15/16) wrench to loosen it & find TDC in the hole. Then put timing pin in pump(it is in the plug backwards)to lock it on TDC.Install fuel pump.Tighted gear nut to 106 INLBS.Disengage timing pin in cam gear & remove timing pin in fuel pump & reistall plug.Torque nut to 145-150 ft lbs.(30MM or 1 3/16").
