Replacement Instructions for the 2005 Ford Five Hundred Blower

If the blower in your 2005 Ford Five Hundred doesn't work, there are a couple of things to check before you remove the blower motor. A brown 7.5A fuse in slot No. F23 of the passenger compartment fuse panel provides juice to the blower relay. In the power distribution box in the engine compartment, find a 40A cartridge fuse in slot No. 36 for the blower motor and the motor relay -- a full ISO relay -- in location No. 57. Check them first.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Socket set
  • Ratchet
  • Gently pry up and remove the passenger-side, cowl side trim panel forward of the scuff plate, and the passenger-side lower instrument panel insulator. Disconnect the blower electrical connector.

  • Remove three blower motor screws and remove the motor. Remove the retaining clip for the blower motor wheel and remove the wheel from the motor. Install the wheel onto the new motor and install the retainer clip. Install the motor and tighten the blower mount screws.
