Step-by-Step: How to Remove a Rear Door Cover on a Chevy Venture

Removing the rear door cover in your Chevy Venture is the first step in more than a few do-it-yourself repair projects. In order to access and repair power windows, install new speakers or perform various other wiring tasks, you need to first get the door cover out of your way. While the rear door cover is one that will need to be taken off less often, it's still a task well within the skill set of a novice do-it-yourself mechanic.

Things You'll Need

  • 10mm socket and ratchet
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Take off the bolt under the door latch with a 10mm socket and ratchet.

  • Remove the switch assembly if your Venture has electric locks and windows. Push forward on the assembly and pry it up with a flat-head screwdriver to remove it.

  • Remove the 10 mm bolt that's under the switch assembly with the same ratchet.

  • Pull the door cover forward. It's held on by white, pointed fasteners, so you may have to apply some force.
