The instrument cluster on the Dodge Grand Caravan contains gauges for the speedometer, the oil pressure and the fuel capacity. Problems in the cluster range from burned-out light bulbs to needles falling out of alignment and giving bad readings. You can change light bulbs in the cluster, but most other problems, such as replacing the gauge needles, will likely require you to replace the entire cluster. The cluster is mounted in the dash, above the steering column.
Disconnect the van's negative battery cable.
Remove the screws connecting the parking brake handle and the lower steering column cover to the dash. Remove the lower steering column cover, then unscrew and remove the upper column cover.
Pry off the left cover from the dashboard -- it is inaccessible when the door is closed -- and remove all the screws to the instrument cluster bezel. Disconnect the clip holding the bezel to the dash and remove it, disconnecting the electrical connectors.
Detach the instrument cluster with your screwdriver. Pull the cluster back and disconnect the electrical connectors. Unclip the upper dash cover with a small screwdriver to access the electronic instrument display and disconnect the wiring harness.
Twist the bulb holder of a burned-out bulb counterclockwise a quarter turn and pull it out of the display. Insert the replacement bulb and turn it clockwise to secure it.
Clip the upper dash cover in place and reconnect its wiring harness after replacing any bulbs. Attach the electrical connector for the instrument cluster (old or replacement), install the cluster in the dash and tighten the screws.
Reconnect all the trim bezels and panels with their clips and screws. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
