How to Install a Rear Wiper Arm on an Envoy

The rear wiper arm on a GMC Envoy allows the driver to clear the back window for improved visibility. The wiper arm mounts on the wiper motor stalk and holds the rear wiper blade. With the push of a button, you can clear the rain, snow or dirt from the back window when your rear wiper system is functioning properly. If the wiper arm is damaged, you'll need to replace it in order to enjoy this convenience. Anyone with basic auto-repair experience can install a new rear wiper arm on a GMC Envoy in a matter of minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Align the wiper arm with the bottom of the back window so that the wiper arm and the bottom of the window are parallel.

  • Slide the hub of the rear wiper arm onto the Envoy's rear wiper motor stalk. The hub and stalk are splined, so make sure to line up the splines before pushing the hub down onto the stalk.

  • Tighten the set screw in the side of the rear wiper arm hub with the screwdriver. Push the rear wiper arm hub trim cover down into place by hand.
