Installation Instructions for Honda Accord Fog Lights

There are many available options for fog lights on Honda Accord models. You can choose customized fog lights in an array of shapes and assorted colors. Whether you are searching for a new way to make your Accord stand out, or you have to replace a damaged or dull fog light bulb, the installation process is relatively simple. You can complete this task in less than an hour at home rather than spending unnecessary time and money in an auto repair shop.

Things You'll Need

  • 12-mm wrench
  • 10-mm wrench
  • Plastic bag
  • Gloves
  • Locate the fog light assembly on the lower part of the front fascia panel on the bumper skirt. Find the retainer brackets that hold the assembly in place. Unscrew both 12-mm retainer screws for the assembly with the 12-mm wrench, then unscrew both 10-mm screws with the 10-mm wrench. Put each pair of screws into a plastic bag to ensure that they won't get lost.

  • Pull the plastic fog light covering panels toward you until they come out. Pull the assembly out in the same fashion. Unplug the electrical connector by pulling it straight out of the back of the assembly.

  • Twist the fog light bulb counterclockwise until it comes out of the assembly.

  • Put on your gloves to protect the halogen bulbs from natural oils in your skin. Insert the new bulb into the socket inside the assembly. Twist the bulb clockwise until the raised notch on the bulb aligns with the tab on the assembly.

  • Plug the electrical connector into the assembly. Set the assembly back into the open slot in the bumper. Secure the retaining screws with their corresponding wrenches.
