How to Replace the Back Wiper on a Honda Odyssey

Honda recommends checking the rear wiper on an Odyssey minivan every six months. It should be replaced if the rubber blade is cracked or worn. Auto parts stores typically stock replacement blades. Determine which model fits the Odyssey by paging through the catalogs in the wiper aisle until you find the correct wiper for the year and make of your vehicle. Select the correct replacement blade from the display shelves. On most models, you can simply replace the rubber blade, rather than the entire wiper assembly.

Things You'll Need

  • Honda Odyssey rear wiper blade
  • Pull the rear wiper arm and blade away from the window. Remove the blade assembly by pivoting it upward. Slide the rubber squeegee blade out of the holder.

  • Insert the new rubber squeegee blade into the slot. If the new blade has plastic or metal reinforcement on the back edge, remove it and install any metal or plastic reinforcement strips from the old rubber blade. Make sure the new blade is held snuggly in the wiper assembly.

  • Reinstall the wiper assembly by locking it into place in the wiper arm. Gently place the wiper arm back against the rear window.
