How to Spray a Car With Undercoat Oil

Car undercoating is a product that prevents rust from settling on your vehicle. Although car dealerships will charge you quite a bit to complete the job, you can apply the undercoating on your own without having to pay a dealer to do it for you. In fact, you’ll be surprised at how quick and easy the job of spraying your car with undercoat oil can be.

Things You'll Need

  • Jack stand
  • Spray can
  • Undercoat oil
  • Get the jack stand. Lift the car and put the car's front end securely on the jack stand. Make sure that the surface the car is on is flat and level.

  • Apply the undercoat oil by using a horizontal motion. Lower the front section of the car. Raise the rear of the vehicle to do the back section.

  • Apply the oil to all metal surfaces in an even coat. Lower the car once you've finished applying the oil.

  • Keep all oil away from wires, oil plug and exhaust pipe.
