How to Replace the Fuses in a Dodge Durango

In the 2014 and 2015 Dodge Durango, you have a power distribution center called the "totally integrated power module." The TIPM is on the passenger side of the engine compartment under a flat, black plastic cover. It contains cartridge fuses and micro fuses that protect circuits in your Durango. Turn off the ignition switch and all accessories before you open the TIPM cover. To aid you in removing the fuses, find a fuse puller inside the cover along with a fuse map showing the layout of the electrical components in the module. Use the fuse map in conjunction with the fuse list in your owner's manual to find the fuse you want. Once you identify it, pull it straight out using your fingers or the fuse puller. Insert the new fuse and push it straight in.

Fuse Swap

  • The square cartridge fuses -- 20A to 60A in your Durango -- carry high current. The small micro fuses are usually 20A or less. In a pinch, you can swap fuses from non-essential systems, but never swap out a fuse for one with a higher amp rating. For example, if you need a 20A micro fuse, take one from slot "F93" for the cigarette lighter. The lighter is a non-essential system and you can live without it until you get to the parts store to replace the fuse.
