Flat tires. They're one of those things that just happen when you least expect them, and usually when you're late for an important appointment. Changing a tire isn't difficult, but sometimes, getting the tire out by itself can be a little awkward.
First, pull the passenger seat forward and remove the tool kit from behind the seat. It's located in a covered plastic bin with a screw-off lid.
Take out the lug wrench and the other two straight tools from the pocket.
The two straight tools link together in the middle, like a ratchet and a socket. Click the two together.
In the rear bumper, just to the side of the license plate, there is a small hole. That's the access hole for the spare tire. Slide the combined straight tools into the hole until the end clicks into place.
Take the lug wrench out. You'll notice there is a square hole in the middle of the wrench. Place that on the end of the straight tools that are hanging out of the bumper and click it on.
Turn the lug wrench counter-clockwise. The tire will start to lower to the ground.
Once the tire is on the ground, or low enough that you can access it, tilt it up and remove the cable from the center of the wheel by tilting it sideways.
Once the tire is changed, you can either put it in the back of the bed, or mount it like the stock spare tire was installed. Crank the lug wrench the opposite direction, which lifts up either the tire or the tire mount by itself.
