How to Install a SRT-4 Blow Off Valve

People install aftermarket blow off valves on their turbocharged SRT-4's for multiple reasons. It may simply be because you want a cooler sounding valve. Alternatively, you may want to increase the boost in your vehicle without having the factory valve leak. You cannot simply replace the old blow off valve, as the flanges will not match up. You will need to use a cold side pipe adapter for the installation process.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Socket Set
  • Allen Wrench
  • Blow off valve
  • Cold Side Pipe Adapter
  • 7/32 Vacuum line
  • ¼ to 3/8 reducer
  • Solenoid capper
  • Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal from the negative post. You can remove the negative terminal by unscrewing it or using a socket wrench to loosen the nut that holds it in place and pulling it off.

  • Locate the intercooler in your engine bay. Remove the cold side pipe by loosening the screw that secures the clamp. The intercooler is located in the front near the bumper and it looks like a giant radiator.

  • Remove the red vacuum line and the IAT connector by unplugging them.

  • Remove the hose clamp connected to the intercooler by loosening the screw that secures it. You will have to access the screw under the driver's side front wheel.

  • Remove the intake system by removing the bolts that secure it.

  • Remove the pink vacuum line on the stock surge valve by removing the three bolts that secure it.

  • Connect your block off plate to where your surge valve used to be and secure it with the three bolts.

  • Mount your blow off valve to your pipe and secure it with two Allen screws.

  • Connect the two ends of your cold side adapter pipe to the intercooler and throttle body where you previously disconnected the two hoses.

  • Use your vacuum line to connect your blow off valve to your cold side pipe adapter.

  • Disconnect the line going from your throttle body to the solenoids of your stock air box. Use a reducer to connect this line to your blow off valve. You will need to use a ¼ to 3/8 reducer.

  • Reconnect your IAT sensor by plugging it back in.

  • Reattach your air intake by bolting it back into place on the mounting bracket.

  • Cap off the solenoid from the red vacuum line that you disconnected in step 2.

  • Reconnect the negative terminal of your battery and close the hood.
