How to Make a Chevy Cobalt SS Faster

If you own a Chevrolet Cobalt SS and would like to improve the power of the vehicle, there are a number of different things that can be done to make the vehicle faster. The Chevrolet Cobalt SS comes standard with a 6-cylinder. 260-horsepower engine and is built as a performance vehicle, but by adding aftermarket additions, you can make the car even faster.

  • Add new spark plug wires to the car. Spark plug wires are responsible for igniting fuel in the engine and allowing fuel to reach the engine properly. New spark plugs will lower resistance during this process and result in higher power when the car is in motion.

  • Change the air filter. An aftermarket air filter will increase cool air circulation to the engine and will result in higher performance on the road. While the standard air filter does allow cool air to pass through, it will not do so as efficiently as an aftermarket product.

  • Place coolant additives into the coolant reservoir of your Chevy Cobalt SS vehicle. Coolant additives can greatly reduce the temperature of the vehicle while all of the components are in motion. By reducing the temperature in the engine, the parts move more efficiently and result in a much greater power output for the vehicle.
