Body kits are an easy way to redesign the exterior of your car and give it a completely different appearance, without having to do major modifications. Installing a body kit can be pretty easy, but it does require some patience to do properly, otherwise it won't fit correctly and will look horrible. This job can take anywhere from two to five hours depending on how complex the kit is and the type of vehicle.
Hold the front bumper of the body kit onto the bottom of the front bumper of the vehicle with the help of an assistant. Look to see if the body kit fits well on the bumper. If there are any irregularities or issues with the piece, sand it down using the 120-grit sandpaper.
Drill the sheet metal screws through the body kit into the bumper, making sure to mount the screws in the fender or another area that's not detrimental to the overall look of the vehicle. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the rear bumper section of the body kit.
Hold the side panel to the body kit to the side of the vehicle with the help of your assistant. This is a long piece, and you want to make sure it's straight and fits correctly before you screw it in place. Once again, if you find any irregularities, sand them out using the sandpaper and then test fit again. Screw the panel to the vehicle using the sheet metal screws and drill.
