How to Use Liquid Glass with Car Wax

Liquid Glass is a polishing compound similar to other car wax products. Since it actually is a wax, it is unnecessary to add another wax on top of it; according to the manufacturer, another wax product will not add luster or improve protection. Before your first use of Liquid Glass, you will need to clean the car with the Liquid Glass Pre-Cleaner. Thereafter, you need only use the Pre-Cleaner once a year. You can use as many coats of Liquid Glass as you like; the makers of the product encourage it. They claim that the shine of Liquid Glass deepens with each new coat.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid Glass Pre-Cleaner
  • Liquid Glass
  • Clean shammies for drying
  • Hose or bucket with water
  • Foam wax applicator pad
  • 2 microfiber detailing towels
  • Clean your car using the Liquid Glass Pre-Cleaner to remove dirt and any old wax using one of the microfiber towels. Rinse the car thoroughly with a hose or a bucket of water.

  • Dry your car completely with shammies. Make sure your car is completely dry before proceeding to the next step.

  • Apply a very thin coat of Liquid Glass with the foam applicator pad with a smooth back-and-forth motion. Don't worry if you think it is too thin. You can always add another coat.

  • Allow the Liquid Glass to dry, then buff with a new microfiber towel.

  • Repeat the last two steps above to add another coat of Liquid Glass. Otherwise, you can use the same method to add a coat of another wax type if you desire. You may need clean applicators and towels with a different kind of car wax.
