A P0141 is a OBDII error code. It indicates failure in a vehicle's oxygen sensor heater circuit bank 1, sensor 2. This means the heating circuit of the rearmost oxygen sensor has failed. To fix this problem, you will need to replace the rear oxygen sensor. This can be done with an oxygen sensor removal socket once you gain access underneath your vehicle.
Park your car on level ground and engage the parking brake. Use a hydraulic jack to raise the front of the vehicle and place it on jackstands. Place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels.
Follow the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter. It is typically located underneath the car after the exhaust downpipe or header. You can identify it by the oxygen sensors which will be mounted at the front and back. The exhaust midpipe will be mounted behind the catalytic converter.
Place an oxygen sensor socket on the rear oxygen sensor (the one closest to the rear tailpipe). Use a ratchet to loosen and remove the sensor. Unplug the oxygen sensor's wiring harness, which will be an electrical connector held in place with a clip, then set the old sensor aside.
Install your new oxygen sensor into the factory location, tightening it down with your oxygen sensor socket. Connect the new oxygen sensor to the wiring harness.
Disconnect your vehicle's negative battery terminal and let it sit for 20 minutes, then reconnect. This should re-set the engine computer. Go for a drive to see if your check engine light has turned off. It might take a few drives and on-off cycles before the check engine light finally turns off.
