The Buick V6 knock sensor is either attached to the bottom of the the intake manifold near where it connects to the engine block on the passenger side of the engine, or it is located directly on the engine block.
Check your owner's manual, registration or insurance documents to determine the mode year of your Buick. This will determine the location of the knock sensor.
The knock sensor on a 1978 or 1979 Buick V6 model is located on the passenger side of the engine. The sensor is attached to the intake manifold.
Knock sensors on post-1980 Buick V6 engines are located on the rear of the engine block. This is the side of the engine facing the passenger compartment and firewall.
