Instructions for Replacing 2005 Acura Tl Driver Side Rearview Mirror Glass

The Acura TL's side rearview mirror glass can sustain damage from a collision or minor contact, resulting in a cracked mirror. This can seriously impede your visibility when driving and should be fixed immediately. You can purchase new model-specific glass for your side rearview mirror from an auto parts store and save money by installing the new glass in your own driveway.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Remove the damaged glass from the side rearview frame. The glass is secured by two flexible joints at the top and two snap points at the bottom. Push the top of the glass into the rearview frame, exposing the two snap points at the bottom.

  • Use a screwdriver to push the two bottom snap points, releasing the glass from the rearview frame. Tilt the glass into the frame from the bottom, exposing the two top flexible joints. Rotate the glass until it comes loose from the flexible joints.

  • Pull the glass out from the rearview frame and disconnect the heater wire from the back. Install the heater into the back of the new glass and position the glass into the frame. Rotate the top of the glass to attach it to the two top flexible joints, then push the bottom of the glass into the frame until you hear the two snap points click, securing the new glass in place.
