How to Replace Mazda Mpv Plugs

One of the most basic repairs that every amateur mechanic learns is how to replace the spark plugs in a vehicle. Changing out spark plugs is a simple repair that can be done with minimal tools and some spare time. Changing the spark plugs on your Mazda MPV will ensure that your vehicle remains in top working condition. Keeping fresh spark plugs will also help keep your horsepower up and will improve the overall smoothness of your Mazda's ride.

Things You'll Need

  • Socket wrench
  • Spark plugs
  • Open the hood of the Mazda and remove the spark plug wires from the spark plug. Grab the boot of the wire, twist, and then pull the wire from the spark plug. Repeat this for all of the Mazda's spark plugs.

  • Place the socket wrench on the spark plug itself. Turn the wrench to the left and unscrew the spark plug. Remove the spark plug from the engine.

  • Take a new spark plug and place it in the hole. Gently turn the spark plug to the right using only your hand. Repeat this step with all the remaining spark plugs.

  • Use the socket wrench to finish tightening up all the spark plugs. Replace the boot of the spark plug wire on the spark plug and twist it into place using your hand. You should hear a clicking sound once the wire is secured and connected properly. Repeat this whole process for all the spark plugs.
