How to Find the Keyless Entry Code for a 2002 Ford Windstar

If you have bought your 2002 Ford Windstar from a dealer who does not have access to the Keyless Entry Code, then it is still possible to determine what it is without needing to call Ford. All Ford cars with Keyless Entry Code capabilities have the code printed somewhere on the body of the car, although it may be in a variety of places. If you cannot find the Keyless Entry Code, Ford may be able to help you.

  • Check the hinge of your doors for a sticker with your Keyless Entry Code on it. To do this, open the door and check the hinge on the inside of the vehicle. The Keyless Entry code is a five digit number. The code may also be printed on a small credit-card style piece of card inside the owner's manual.

  • Check the car's interior computer box, which is a small box situated either under the dashboard, behind the radio or steering column. Again, this may have a sticker on it which displays the numbers. Check in each of those three places by feeling for a small box. You can use a mirror and a flashlight to read the sticker number if it is too hard to reach.

  • Contact your Ford dealer, or contact Ford directly. They will most likely charge you a fee for telling you your Keyless Entry Code. If your car has been in an accident, then some of the parts may have been replaced by new ones, in which case you will be unable to find the code without Ford's help.
