How to Change a Tire on a Volkswagon Golf

The VW Golf is a small, two-door coupe. Knowing how to change a tire on this vehicle is an important piece of information that you will need to know while you own the car. All four tires are secured to the axle by lug nuts, the metal securing nuts that hold the tires securely to the axle. This job should take you only 10 minutes for each tire that needs to be changed.

Things You'll Need

  • Jack
  • Tire iron
  • Using the tire iron, loosen the tire's lug nuts from the tire that you need to change. Position the car jack under the support rail on the frame. Raise the Golf off the ground using the jack. Completely remove the lug nuts and pull off the tire.

  • Place the new tire onto the frame of the VW Golf. Replace the lug nuts to the wheel. Lower the VW Golf back to the ground and remove the jack from under the fame.

  • Tighten the lug nuts using the tire tool. Repeat these steps for any other tires that need to be changed.
