How to Reset the Oil Meter on a 2007 Crv

The 2007 to 2010 Honda CR-V is equipped with an oil life meter. This meter estimates the percentage of oil life remaining based on your driving patterns and the number of miles since your last scheduled maintenance. After changing the oil, the meter does not automatically reset. Instead, you must reset it manually. Reset the meter immediately after an oil change to ensure it displays the correct percentage of oil life remaining.

  • Look at the ignition cylinder closely to find the "II" setting. Insert your key and turn it to this setting.

  • Press the odometer stem (beneath the speedometer) several times, until the display "Oil Life" appears.

  • Press and hold the stem for 10 seconds. The display will flash.

  • Turn the stem until "Oil Life" and the percentage appears. Push the stem, wait for it to blink, and then push it again. The meter will reset to 100 percent.
