How to Program a Mopar Door Opener

Some Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicle are equipped with a transmitter that you can program with the code from your garage door, allowing it to open and close the garage door. Programming the garage door opener on a Mopar vehicle can easily be accomplished using the transmitter that came with your garage door opener. Keep people and pets away from the garage door while you are programming the in-car transmitter. It may open and close during this procedure.

Things You'll Need

  • Mopar in-car garage transmitter
  • Garage door transmitter
  • Clear any objects that may inhibit the opening or closing of the garage door. Make sure no people or pets are near the door while you are programming the door. It may open or close during this operation.

  • Clear previous codes in the in-car transmitter by holding the two outside buttons until the LED display begins to flash rapidly.

  • Pick which of the three button on the in-car transmitter you wish to program. Hold that button down while holding the button on the garage door opener down. Hold the garage door opener near the selected button. Hold both buttons down until the LED display begins to flash rapidly.

  • Find the "learn" button on your garage door opener motor, using the instruction supplied with the motor. Press the "learn" button, then press the button on the in car garage door opener you previously programmed three or four times. Depending on the model of garage door opener, it will either open or close or flash the garage opener light to signal the motor is programmed.
