How to Replace the Rear Signal Lights in a Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is a large and safe SUV, but when one of its rear signal lights isn't working it becomes a hazard on the road to both you and other drivers. Because of this, you should quickly replace the signal lights whenever they crack or burn out.

Things You'll Need

  • #7440 replacement bulb (2007 and later models)
  • #3157K replacement bulb (2000 through 2006 models)
  • #3057 replacement bulb (1999 through 2000 models)
  • Screwdriver
  • Engage your Escalade's emergency brake and remove the keys out of the ignition before starting.

  • Walk around to the back of the vehicle and open the tailgate.

  • Remove the two screws from the side of the taillight assembly. Put the screws in your pocket or in a small bag so you can find them later.

  • Pull the taillight assembly rearward until its inner pins disengage from the Escalade.

  • Press the bulb socket release tab, if it has one, and then twist the socket counterclockwise to remove it from the taillight assembly.

  • Lift the old bulb straight out of the socket and replace it with the new one. Then, twist the bulb socket back into the taillight assembly until it clicks.

  • Test the new signal light to make sure it works. If it lights up, line the taillight assembly pins up with their corresponding holes and screw the assembly back into place.
