The Volvo S80 is a midsize sedan that has been in production since 1998. The car features power driver and passenger seats. A lever on the outside of the driver's seat allows the driver to move the seat forward, backward, up and down depending on comfort and desire. The power to the seat can go out due to a blown or fuse that becomes disengaged. The fuses are located inside the vehicle and should be inspected to determine if the fuse can be reset or has to be replaced to fix a seat that won't move.
Locate the fuse box. The fuse for the driver's power seat is located in a compartment under the glove box. Fold back the upholstery covering the fuse box. Press the lock on the cover and fold up to view the fuses.
Pull the driver's seat fuse out to reset the power to the seat. The fuse is located in the bottom row and is the fifth from the left side.
Inspect the fuse. If it appears to be intact, place it back into the fuse box. This resets the electrical to the seat.
Push the lever on the outside of the driver's seat forward or backward depending on your desired position. If the seat moves, the fuse just needed to be reset.
Take your vehicle into an authorized Volvo dealership. If the power seat fuse is burned out, broken or simply not working, it needs to be inspected and repaired by a trained professional. These individuals have the knowledge and equipment to properly repair the seat and vehicle.
