Ford made the 6.7-liter, 400-horsepower Power Stroke V-8 diesel an option in the 2011 F-250 XL, XLT and Lariat. This beefy powerplant is all the more impressive when you consider that it is capable of moving a truck weighing four tons through the quarter mile in less than 17 seconds.
With the filter changed, the Power Stroke diesel in your 2011 F-250 takes 13 quarts of Super Duty oil -- 10W30, 15W40, 5W40, or 0W30, depending on conditions and usage. When changing the oil, note that the oil pan drain plug requires only a quarter-turn to remove it. Don't over-tighten the plug when you reinstall it. The oil life monitor determines the oil change interval. Reset the oil life monitor in the message center on the dashboard when the oil change is done.
