How to Mount a Bell Tire Pump

A tire pump can be a cyclist's best friend, especially when you're out in the middle of nowhere and you've got a flat. A Bell tire pump, such as the AirStrike model, is light and compact. It attaches to the frame of the bicycle and can be properly secured with ease in a matter of minute by professionals and amateurs alike.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 mm Allen key
  • Bicycle grease
  • Decide whether the pump should be mounted on the bicycle seat tube or down tube. There are bolts included in the kit for either tube.

  • Lubricate the mounting bolt threads and holes with all-purpose bicycle grease. If you decide to mount the tire pump where the bottle cage is fixed, unscrew the bottle cage and lube this area for mounting the pump.

  • Align the eyelets of the pump's mounting bracket with the holes on the bicycle's frame.

  • Thread the manufacturer's bolts through each hole then use a 4 mm Allen key to fully tighten the bolts.

  • Slide the Bell tire pump into the mounting bracket.
