Auto Insurance Claims: Auto Accident 3006 Toyota Corolla, 2006 toyota corolla, gap insurance

Question
I was rear-ended last week...there is significant damage to the rear and read side of car, under car (trunk area).  The car is a 2006 Toyota Corolla with about 98500 miles.  The insurance adjuster said there was a strong possibility that the car will be totaled.  I do carry GAP insurance.  If I understand the process...the Insurance adjuster will recommend an amount and the GAP insurance would pick up the balance of my loan...but I am upside down on the loan...leaving me nothing for a down payment on a new car...suggestions?
