Auto Insurance Claims: Hit by a car as a padestrian, claims advice, claim help

Question
I have no idea what is going on right now, and was wondering what I could/should expect to happen with my situation.

I was struck by a car as a padestrian. The driver was not cited as the police report contains false information. In the report the officer says he questioned the witness, and put his statement in the report, but my lawyer brought the witness in to sign a form stating that what the officer had him quoted as saying was correct. The witness declined, and informed my lawyer that he did not say what the officer had in the report which would change everything around, and have me not at fault.

I suffered severe injuries from the incident, and almost died. My injuries ranged from... bleeding from my brain, to fractured eye sockets. The doctors I have seen all told me I was very close to dying, I was later diagnosed with severe post concussion syndrome, and short term memory loss. The accident happened on Nov. 17, 2010, so it hasn't been that long yet.

I try to ask questions to my lawyer but the paralegal isn't very helpful. I wasn't sure if my car insurance would be something I will be able to use as his insurance is $20k/40k and my ui is 250k/500k? Also would I be able to tap into my med pay as I have been covering the bills, and am currently only allowed to work half days at work?

Also if there is anything else you can tell me to expect, I would be very appreciative. I do apologize for any speeling errors that may be in this.

Thanking you in advance
Kris

Answer
 Hi Kris,

I am so sorry for you.

If you would, let me know what state you live in, so I can try to be of more help.  Also, by "ui", are you referring to Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage?

Send me a follow up.  OK!
