Auto Insurance Claims: Rv used as tour vehicle hit by driver who fell asleep, labor day weekend, reckless driving

Question
Hi, My name is Dom, I own a small business and A big part of it is traveling nationally usually around 200 days a year with the help of our RV.
The Other day before a trip our driver was on his way to pick us up and a driver fell asleep at the wheel veering into his lane and smashing a good deal of the whole left side of the vehicle. She was issued 2 tickets, One for reckless driving.
I wanted to get some pointers as we need the vehicle in less than 3 weeks for another month and a half long trip.
The Rv in question Sleeps 8 and was purchased far below what it is worth making it almost impossible to get the deal we got again.
Without this vehicle we cannot work and it has already caused us to miss 2 jobs worth potentially over $2000 each job. I'm not looking to profit off this but this persons negligence crippled my business in one fowl swoop.
Now its Labor day weekend and they wont send someone out til Tuesday is this normal? Any pointers to get it done quickly and properly?

Answer
Hi Dom,

Unfortunately, there is no quick process. You need to find a body shop that will work on this thing. Do not accept a shop referral from the insurance company without first checking them out. Insurance companies refer shops for the sole purpose of saving them money regardless of what they tell you.

You should notify the insurance company that this vehicle is used in business and that they need to pay for you to rent a comparable vehciel for you to continue working while yours is repaired otherwise they will have to pay you for your loss of income.

I hope this helps
