Auto body repair & detailing: clear bra removal, polish wax, heat gun

My black car has an old clear bra that the AZ sun has cracked & frayed.  We cannot peel it off unless we use a credit card bit by bit.  What a long process.  ANY IDEAS?

To remove the clear bra, get a hair dryer or heat gun (be careful) and heat it to about 150 degrees and you should be able to get an edge lifted and peel from there.  Work from the best conditioned area to the worst.  Peel the newest looking area and work towards the worst. If it stops peeling, go back to heating the problem area. Dab some lacquer thinner on some of the parts that wont come up.  Follow up with some polish/wax.
