Auto body repair & detailing: door hinge, gmc vandura, door hinge

Question
I need to replace a worn driver side upper door hinge on my '89 GMC Vandura.  Getting at some of the bolts looks to be difficult.  Would driving the pin out and replacing it only be an easier and quicker fix, and would I need a special tool to do that?  Thanks

Answer
The bolts are probably very difficult to get at all of them. I sure you will have some very choice words before your done with the replacement option. Changing the pin and bushings is not a fun task either but I do believe it would be easier. You would need to name a few tools a drill, a cut off wheel, screw drivers, small punch to push the pin out, a grinder, a hammer. Cut the pin in the center and do what ever it takes to get it out from there grind it, wiggle it, drill it, hammer on it, pry at it. Be sure to brace the door up and maybe put some tape on the fender to help keep it from scratching the paint. And replace both bushings.
