Auto body repair & detailing: 1993 Chevy Lumina Rocker Panel Replacement, replacement rocker panels, chevy lumina

My husband has a 1993 Chevy Lumina and the Rocker Panels are rusting through. We called a dealer and can purchase the replacement rocker panels but we are unsure of what is entailed to replace them. My husband is most capable of replacing these but we do not have welding equipment, will it be needed? Thanks Kindly, Amy

Yes rocker panels need to be welded on. but first the rusted ones need to be cut off with a cutting wheel. It is a very big project, better to be left to the pros. The rockers are part of the structure or integrety of your vehicle.
