Auto body repair & detailing: controllers for back windows, window controllers, cream puff

Question
I have a 1989 mustang, Cream Puff,.5.0, lx convt.

The back windows will not retract (power).  I am told that the problem is probably in the controllers, I have not been able to locate new controllers for the rear windows,  both windows are doing the same thing,  motor runs and will retract with pressure on the window but will not raise except by holding and pulling on the glass.
Do you know where I may find controllers.

Answer
I have never heard of window controllers. First off start by lubricating the window tracks.Imean lubricate every part of your window. With the inner panels removed. Lub. with WD40 or somthing in that kind of line. What happens is that the rubbers dry up over time and the windows do not like to go up. If that doesnt help you poblem is your elecric motors are worn out from lifting and pulling down so much. Also the desine of the rear window motors is not good they are always getting wet when it rains. You might have to replace the motors. They are still available at a ford dealer.
