Auto body repair & detailing: Buying clear title damaged vehicles, auto body shops, angel angel

Question
Our little family is growing and we need a larger vehicle.
I have found a clear title VW 2002 Jetta Wagon that seems like it would fit our needs.
All of the damage to this vehicle is in the left 3/4 rear and rear of the vehicle.  The Salage Yard describes the repairs as "easy."
We have had various photos taken of the vehicle to show to local auto body shops and I'm trying to determine if this venture is worth it.
If the title is clear and damage is repairable within our price range, what should we be aware of before we decide to go ahead with this?
How do you know if you should definitely stay away from such an investment?
Also, I've often thought that if I could find one of these clear title vehicles every so often and had a good autobody place to do business with, extra money could be made on the side by selling these cars.
What has your experience been with this idea?

Thanks,

Angel

Answer
Angel,
We appologize for the delay, we were having trouble with our email.
We have repaired and resold many cars this way.  You will want to add the cost of the car and the amount the body shop wants for the repairs and make sure this total is less than what the vehicle is worth.  You can get this information from an NADA or Blue Book.  Make sure the body shop guarentees their work.
Thank you,
Mike and Lisa
