Car Alarms: Programing Info?, 2001 mercury sable, mercury sable

I have a 2001 Mercury Sable. I purchased it in November.
The problem I'm having is when ever anyone clicks their fob, my car responds by locking, & flashing my park lights. I was told by the garage techs that this is an after market alarm system, so my warranty won't cover it.
I was told it could be in programing mode, & that's the reason it reacts to other alarm fobs
On my fob it says "Xtreme". I can't find any info on this anywhere.
Can anyone tell me anything about this brand, where I can get info, or how to program it?

programming of your system however.
