Car Alarms: Honda Accord 98 Horn goes off in cold weather, honda accord, battery terminal

Question
Hello,
Recently my Honda '98 Accord horn has been going off by itself at night when the temperature drops.
No lights flash so I don't think it's from the alarm and I have to tap the steeling wheel pad to stop the horn.About 15- 20 minutes later it goes off again. I have to disconnect the battery terminal to keep it from happening again. I took out the horn relay and have not had a problem however, I now have no horn. Any suggestions?

Answer
Yes, not the alarm here, it's likely to be the charging system
or the battery voltage level triggering the alarm.
This happens often in extreme temps with many vehicles.
A design flaw for sure if you live far north,
but there you have it. :>(

Best suggestion is to have the charging/alternator system serviced
to bring to optimal levels, and this trouble should go
away.

Good luck.
