Car Alarms: jeep car alarm, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

Question
i just bought a used 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo. the seller did not give me a wireless remote for the alarm system. my question is how can i tell if the alarm is activated? there is a flashing light on the dashboard but the car starts with my key and locks with the key. so i was wondering if maybe the alarm was deactived. the problem i am having is that the computer thing has options for the car alarm. sorry if i am ramling i just need to know how to tell if teh alarm is activated i do not want the seller to steal my car

Answer
If no siren of flahing lights are evident, the only
way to tell is to have a tech go under the dash and
locate it. This car does have 2 seperat "factory" alarms,
but it's also entirely possible that it has an after karkey
alarm that has been triggered, but the last owner "cliped"
the siren lead.

hard to tell without seeing under the hood and dash.

Take it to a local tech to find out. :>)

Good luck.
