Car Stereos: low line converter install, rear cargo area, line output converter

Question
I need to figure out how to hook up an amp/subs combo in my 03 Trailblazer with factory Bose system. Can I use a low line converter? if so, how do I install it?

Answer
Hi Derek,

In a typical Trailblazer with Bose, you can use a standard line output converter to add an amplifier to the factory system, but you cannot connect the line output converter at the radio harness.  Instead, you'll have to find the speaker outputs at the Bose amplifier.  This is located under the side panel in the rear cargo area, usually on the passenger side (though there are a few models that put the amp on the driver's side).

I'd suggest connecting your converter to the rear speaker output wires; these are brown (+) and yellow (-) for the left speaker, and dark blue (+) and light blue (-) for the right speaker.

Hope this helps!
