Question
Hi JohnMC,
Thanks for your advice. I did help and the roof closed for the first time. But now it doesn't completely close and movement is not smooth either.

Question -
I own a Discovery 1996 land rover. Yesterday the sun roof got stuck in open position. When i try to close it the left side starts to slide but right stays where it is. The motor seems to be fine. Is it the tracks or something?
Thanks a lot?

Hi Darshak Udeshi,

I've heard that the guides can become stuck and even dislodge themselves.  First make sure the guides are clean and free of debris (gunk).  You could use some pressurized air (compressed air to clean computer keyboards works fine).  You may also try some lubricant (lithium spray) to see if this helps.

Let me know what happens.

JohnMc

Answer
Hi Darshak Udeshi,

did you thoroughly clean out the guide rails?  IF so, it could then be the motor that is causing this problem.  You'll have to let a more experienced technician resolve this by examining the guides and motor operation.

Best of luck,
