Car Stereos: no power to car stereo, jeep grand cherokee laredo, jeep grand cherokee

I have a 1998 Jeep grand cherokee laredo. I took out the stock radio and replaced it with soundstream vir-5000, it worked fine for a couple of months then it stopped getting power, I took out the radio and put the stock back in and still no power through radio compartment. I check the the fuses and their all fine, what should I do?

Hi Aaron.

You can have the car checked by a professional car audio shop to determine where its shorting out or you can bypass the factory wiring by running new wires to the radio. you can get the constant 12v wire (yellow) directly from the battery or from the fuse box, just find a fuse that has 12v constant and grab it from there, do the same with the accessory wire (red), you can also grab the power from the main harness that should be somewhere underneat the steering column.
