Car Stereos: panasonic with static, good measure, car stereo

I bought a car recently with a panasonic touch screen car stereo. It plays everything fine except when it comes to cds. It plays the first 10 songs on the cd fine but after the first 10 it starts playing the rest 10 or so songs with a lot static        (it does this with every cd burnt or otherwise). Is it something to do with programming or what.

That's a weird one.  Only thing I can think of is some internal wiring issues in the deck itself causing it to mess up on the last 10 tracks or so since the laser has to shift to the outside of the disk for those tracks.

Since it's a touch screen, does it also play DVDs?  If so, does it mess up a certain amount into the disc?  If so, you might have some issues with your laser or drive itself.

Try also giving it a lens cleaning just for good measure.
