Car Stereos: Wont pick up FM stations, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

Hello,

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee with a stock radion. Just recently it stopped picking up FM stations. When I turn it all the way up I hear some static. The wierd thing is it still picks up AM stations. Ever hear of anything like this?

Hi Eddie,

Losing FM but maintaining AM can often come from losing power to a powered/amplified antenna.  That might be worth looking into.  Especially if you have one of those shorter rubber antennas.  Alternatively, check the antenna's connection into the deck; it will be a simple connection that's held in place with only friction.
